It’s the idea of experiencing a dynamic learning environment through private prayer, shared devotions, worship, evangelization, and pastoral care, where a student is challenged to respond to Christ’s character by replacing old habits with those that coincide with the Word of God.
Through this, we are able to understand God’s heart for the world, keeping in mind the already existent needs and the urgency to take to the mission field.
Start of the DTS: January 15th

My name is Bryce. I am from Canada. I did my DTS in 2017 and have worked at YWAM since finishing my DTS. Through my DTS, God gave me the opportunity to heal my heart, my identity, He gave me a purpose, and has guided my life to form a deeper relationship with Him every day in what Has called me to do. Now, I am creating a firm pillar in constructing my family with my wife, Ligia, working side by side as missionaries.
Hello, I am Kenneth William and my home country is Guatemala. I did my DTS in 2025. My journey started in an Intensive School. This challenged me to do my DTS because I was searching for a direction in life by doing things apart from God. I looked to fill the emptiness in my heart by my own means. God gave me a new identity and filled me with love. He has shown me who He is and He has challenged me to share the love of Christ.
My name is Monica Hernandez and I am from the city of Sonsonate in El Salvador. I did my DTS in 2021. After, I decided to stay with YWAM full-time because I knew I needed something to continue learning what God had planned for my life. Before knowing Christ, I always maintained holes in my heart and I did not see Jesus as a precious pearl that had found me. Now, I am immeasurably thankful that He rescued me and filled those holes with Him.
My name is Nathaniel I did my DTS in September 2022. My DTS in El Salvador was truly uplifting. I was able to grow deeply in my faith, to build a strong relationship with God, and to be equipped for a life of discipleship. I can wholeheartedly recommend this experience to anyone who desires to know God more and to be transformed by His word. For my own life, I value a lot the strong foundation I could build, and I can look back to a positive reminder on the good God formed within me
